I could hear the roosters crow from my hospital bed...

This is why you haven't heard much from me lately. It all started with a sinus infection about 2 weeks ago. I thought I had it under control and then coughing started. Lab results showed I needed more care and interveinous antibiotics. So I have been in the hospital for the last 2 days and nights. I am home now and feeling much better. The docs at first thought it was pnuemonia, but then downgraded to severe bronchitus and sinusitus. Very good to be back home, being without internet and computer is no fun. Neither were the every 3 hours through the night blood pressure checks and hooking me up to an inhaler.

The first morning I was there I woke to roosters crowing. Oh, did I mention that I am in Panama, Central America right now and that was my first real experience with the health care system here. It was very good. And the bill, even though it was large, was probably about what my co-pay would have been in the states. If you are interested in more details about any of this, leave a comment, I would be happy to share with you.

I wanted to thank-you for visiting my blog!

It's neat that you heard roosters from your hospital room. You must have really been out in the country?

I hope you continue to feel well, and no more sinusitis! OUCH!

Hi Sandy,

I am so happy that you wandered into my blog today!

Hope you are feeling better. My husband had a sinus infection/staph infection combo that made his head swell up so much that he looked like something from the Planet of the Apes. He was in the hospital for almost a week. Nasty stuff!

Thank you all for your well wishes. I am so much better today, I would say in a couple more days I will be back to normal!

Mary, the hospital I was in is in the center of town! It is so interesting here that people everywhere have chickens. In their yards, on the side of the road, you just get used to seeing them and I actually LOVE to hear roosters crow!!

Marie, sounds like your husband really went through it! That staph is serious stuff, luckily they determined that I did not have that just bad bronchitus and sinus stuff. that was a relief. Marie, this is really sick, but did you take a picture of the Planet of the Apes look alike??? My mom always told me, you will laugh at pictures like this later and be glad you have them, but I haven't quite decided if that is true or not!!! ha
And Red, I had a friend go with me to the hospital who was a nurse in the states and speaks spanish, so that made it much easier for me. I actually got a room with 2 beds for $120. a night. $60. a night for a hospital bed, can you believe it!!!!!

thank you for commenting, I can't tell you how much more fun it makes my blogging. I love you all...
